New York City

On the way back to the US from Ireland, we stopped in NYC for a few days.  The first night we stayed at a Day's inn.  We were put in the basement where the smell of the cleaning supplies was so strong that I'm not sure I slept because I was exhausted from the trip, or because I was knocked out by the smell.  I can't believe $150 gets you a tiny room at a Day's in, in the basement, crazy.  We paid $150 for the Trump in Panama.

We took the sub to the city the next morning, after dropping off our bags at John and Stephanie's place in Manhattan.  A summary of our trip in NYC: ventured off, saw the red carpet for the NFL draft, walked around all over the place, went to a the Misserables Broadway show, which was AWESOME. Out of this world, I loved it.  Ate at China Town with John and Stephanie, walked and walked and walked more. Ate at Lombardie's pizza, first pizza place in the USA! the pizza was real good! Walked over the Brooklyn bridge, took a boat around the Statue of Liberty, went up Rockefeller's tower. Went to 911 Memorial, Central Park and Church where we saw Tim Keller speak.

So, yeah it was a packed 4 day trip. Of course you can't expect any less from us.  We really enjoyed out trip and our visit with John and Stephanie, they were extremely nice and let us crash at their place for a couple of nights.  They are so centrally located, right by the river and close to everything.

NYC was great, but def not a place where we would like to live.  A bit too chaotic and full of people but it definitely offers a lot of things to do!
