New Orleans

We have now been married for two weeks.  No one said we would become a boring couple after being married… well some did, but we refuse to accept that.  I had booked a place in New Orleans a few months ago.

We drove from Houston to NOLA, it was a 6? Hour drive, it was raining really hard as we got closer to our destination.  I booked the place through groupon, it was an old bed and breakfast, kind of on a cute neighborhood.  We arrived and settled in in the room which had the strangest pictures ever. There was a party going on that night at Gregg Kennedy friend’s house.  We met up with Greg that evening and ate at a New Orleans typical restaurant.  Gregg is one of greg’s friends from WashU.  He was a really nice guy, I hadn’t met him yet.  We then followed him to the party, met some of his friends, ate some food and then headed back to the B&F.  In the morning, we got up ate breakfast and went to the city where we walked down Burbon street,  ate poboys (I had alligator ones) and walked through some parks, we even napped in the park.  We had a great afternoon, at night we met up with Gregg in a nice little restaurant, great food, then we got daiquiris to go and afterwards we visited his medical school house where he lives with a lottt of guys.

While we enjoyed our stayed in New Orleans we prefer a quieter not so party life.  Oh I forgot to mention that we got stuck in the room, well Greg did… the door handle fell off so I had to go rescue Greg by going through a window and through the balcony.

New Orleans

So, we've been married for two weeks, I believe it's time to start traveling.  Hello New Orleans, we spent a weekend there, not our favorite place, but we got to see it! We stayed at a B&B which was kind of creepy, but it was an adventure for sure.

Where the story starts

Greg and I got married June 30th, 2012. It was a wonderful day despite being the hottest day in history in the city of Loudon, TN (567.67 Rankine = 108F = 42 C = HOT). There were so many people, a bit overwhelming but a great time with family and friends. It was by far one of the best days of my life.

Things went smoothly I thought, we got up early to get the hair done.  My sister, Amanda, Sarah and Michelle were there with me to support me the whole way. They were all pretty awesome. We decorated the golf cart and put the names and flowers at the reception place. It was all very AWESOME to me.  All the great people I wanted to see were there with me.  It meant soo much to me and Greg.  Singing at the church brought a lot of peace to my mind, both my parents walked me down the isle.

Many probably wondered why both parents walked me down? well I was raised by both parents, my mom carefully prepared breakfast and boiled water for me every single day for 17 years! and my dad provided financially to me. Therefore it was both of them who raised me.

The ride in the golf cart going back to the house was absolutely out of this world. Why? well because I had just gotten married to the man of my dreams, I had waited for this day my entire life! and it was just a peaceful and quite moment in the cart, while I stared at Greg thinking: This is it, I'll see his face for the next 75 years.

We danced, we laughed, we kissed.  It was everything I had wanted in my wedding.
