It was about a 10 min car ride from Doolin (where the ferry dropped us off) to the cliffs. Oh by the way, the weather had changed suddenly, when we got off the boat, it was pouring and not just normal drops, they were big and it hurt, it must have had some ice pellets too. We had to run to the car.
We waited in the parking lot of the cliffs for about 30 min, since we thought it would stop raining then. IT DID! It cleared up. I was so so happy! I was seriously going to cry if I didn't see the Cliffs.
I had been praying in my head for the weather to change! Thank you God, even in the smallest things you've showed us your hand and who you are.
Walked around the Cliffs for a long long time, got great awesome pictures. Then something happened, Greg and I were taking pictures, near the edge of the cliff (we were sitting don't worry) and the wind started blowing like crazy, it also started to rain a bit, we saw the rain coming so we got ready but we didn't know the wind was also coming. As we were sitting we put or heads low and stayed put hoping it would pass, no I didn't for a long time. So we were pretty much stuck out there about 3 feet away from the cliff not being able to move. I was super scared, it was 60mph wind, I thought it was gonna pick us up. The cliffs are 214 meter / 700 ft high. We needed to move off from the edge but it was impossible, just a slight movement of our head felt like I was going down the cliff.
We moved when we could and ran to the other side, which is about 15 ft from the edge. Then the wind picked up again, I layed down grabbing onto a fence, and Greg did the same. I was so scared, I thought we would never make it out. When the wind calmed down, we walked back to the main path where there is a rock wall between the cliff and us, much safer.
The Cliffs were everything I had always imagined. Aw they were just so impressive and breath taking. Wish I lived closer to see this every day. Pictures don't do justice for how amazing it is.
After the Cliffs, we drove to Galway, which is where we are spending our last night in Ireland. I can't believe it has come to an end. It's so sad, we loved it here. We wish we had had more time to spend in every place we went.
Galway is very modern, a much more developed city than where we had been, except for Dublin. We grabbed dinner at a restaurant, we both are seafood, since that's what the city is known for. Then walked to a pub to listen to music, which was great! And then walked back to the B&B.
Now we are laying in bed, Greg reads his book while I try to control my stomach. This will be a rough night, my stomach hurts so so bad.
So I wil just have to write the rest about our time in Ireland tomorrow, because really I can hardly move.
Oh one more thing! We saw a complete double rainbow today! And hands down, Ireland gets the best best rainbows out there, solid strong and intense colors.
